Fear (Inktober Day 9: Throw)

Sometimes I have these strange, violent thoughts that come to mind.

I never act upon them, but sometimes I really want to.

Sometimes, I just want to see fear in people’s eyes.

They stayed as just thoughts until I met Him.

He never told me his name, but he did offer me an opportunity,

An opportunity to enact the thoughts in my mind.

We decided to never harm or kill anyone,

But what harm would it be to run around places and scare people?

Many would pay for that experience, and we’re giving it to them for free.

For months we ran around different stores covered in Leatherface masks while revving chainsaws.

Sometimes we stole money. Sometimes we just scared them and left.

Everything was going fine until this woman decided to be bold.

She looked at us with a bored look in her eyes, and said,

“Aren’t you sick of this routine by now? No one is scared of you anymore.”

I froze in place.

Did she just throw the gauntlet?

Before I could react, I heard the revving of a chainsaw.

He wasn’t going to stand for this disrespect.

Before I knew it, He was cutting into the woman,

And blood was everywhere.

She wasn’t able to scream long before He went for the head.

Honestly, it wasn’t my fault she talked back.

It wasn’t my fault she died.

I just wanted to see some fear, and I got my wish.
