I began to feel my energy drain because of the heat.

I crawled behind the sand dune and laid down. 

Looking around I saw a creature rise from the sands.

It’s long, gangly limbs emerged from beneath the earth.

As the sun rose to its peak, I was blinded to the next moves of the creature.

With a blink of my eyes, the creature appears in front of me. 

The sharp teeth and unseeing eyes of the creature were the last things I saw.
