The Ritual (Ring)

I wake up with a groan.

My eyelids are heavy and darkness surrounds me.

I hear only the dripping of water.

What is going on?

I try to turn, but I can’t move.

Finally, I crack my eyes open, but I see nothing.

Suddenly, I begin to hear giggles.

I look the best I can to see what’s around me, and I see children approaching me.

Their laughter gets louder, and they begin to surround me in a circle.

As their laughter rings through my ears, they complete the ring and darkness envelops me for the final time.
