The Lone Survivor (Treasure)

On August 16, 2021August 8, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

“X” is supposed to mark the spot. The treasure is supposed to be here, but I can’t find it.  We tried so hard to find it. We lost so many people in the hunt. I’m the only one left. What’s the point of this treasure if there’s no one alive to have it.

The Reminder (Sling)

On August 9, 2021August 8, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

The sling serves two roles.  First, it prevents my arm from moving while it heals. Second, it reminds me of the cruelty of man. That night was a blur, but I clearly remember the pain from the blows that kept coming and coming. I will never forget the laughter that surrounded me as I curled …

Prom Night (Misfit)

On August 2, 2021July 26, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

It’s pathetic how hard the misfit tries to fit in. As if we would ever like her or be friends with her.  She’s scrawny and freaky. She was never popular, so why would she think that one of the most popular guys would go out with her? She’ll get what she deserves, and by the …

Fragile Bonds (Overgrown)

On July 26, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

The house stands empty and decaying. The vines have overgrown and taken over the building. There used to be a family who lived here. The couple and their daughter were happy and loved each other. However, one day the daughter left. Not everything was as good as the family wanted everyone to believe.  With the …

The Fight (Dizzy)

On July 19, 2021July 19, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

I open my eyes feeling dizzy. I look toward my right only to be met with a punch to the face.  How many times have I been hit? How many times have I fallen down? Why do I keep getting back up? I feel the pain radiate throughout my body. I can’t keep doing this.

The Power of a Name

On July 12, 2021July 11, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn Poetry, WritingLeave a comment

Monday The most hated day of the week The killer of all things fun Monday The name sign of the Moon The celebration of this celestial body Monday The target of jokes The bane of all workers Having the name Monday is a lot of pressure. When being introduced to someone, they go through three …

Christmas Tree (Ornament)

On June 28, 2021May 31, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

‘Crash’ I looked over and I see his shaky hands and despondent eyes. This is the third ornament that’s been broken since we started decorating the tree an hour ago. He won’t ask for help because his pride prevents him. I don’t say anything because I want him to feel normal again. We try to …

Voices

On June 21, 2021June 21, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn Poetry, Writing2 Comments

I’m wandering around, Lost with no sense of direction. I hear the voices surrounding me. I try to walk towards them, But I keep on getting lost. I want to find my way back, But there are other voices driving me away. I don’t know if it’s worth going to those nice, comfortable voices If …

Children

On June 14, 2021June 13, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn PoetryLeave a comment

Children, So happy and free. When I see their cheerfulness, It fills me with glee. They don’t have any worries. They’re all so carefree. I see them everywhere I go. Playing in the park, Swinging on the swings. They play in the sandbox, While fighting over toys. I see them walking with their parents. Down …

Numb (Snow)

On May 31, 2021May 30, 2021 By Luna's Literary CornerIn WritingLeave a comment

I feel the coldness creeping in.  The snow continues to fall as I stare lifelessly into the sky. My entire body is numb, and I am tired. The avalanche separated me from my entire group.  I don’t know if the others are alive or where they are. I don’t know if I will survive.
